What is one of the best ways to connect with people? Unless you're one of those cat-loving oddballs, most people will confidently answer: dogs. People tend to love the everlasting playfulness and unwavering loyalty that dogs represent, and the connections they bring can be life-changing. For California native Kelly Lund, his dog Loki has changed his life and has helped him inspire and empower millions. Kelly got Loki in 2012, and instead of making him a house pet, he turned him loose to the outdoors. They began exploring the world together, and Kelly started taking photos of Loki and posting it on Instagram as a virtual journal. Loki's Instagram page grew famous and soon had thousands of people watching Kelly and Loki's journey. Inspired by this growing fanpage for Loki, Kelly began using the page as a way to empower people from all places to get out and explore the word with their dogs.

Now at two million Instagram followers, Kelly has started giving back to foundations that are doing good in the community and inspiring acts of kindness all over. Kelly and Loki now work with Canine Support Teams, an organization that provides service dogs to people with disabilities to be able to live independently, and also to create a companionship with that dog. Kelly has also put together a Loki Calendar in partnership with Grounds & Hounds Coffee Co. to raise money for more funding for pet adoptions.

Kelly and Loki have also spread awareness about animal health and CBD, and introduced a dog biscuit brand called LokiNaturals, where it educates viewers about the importance of keeping your dog healthy and happy to explore and roam the world. These CBD biscuits have improved the activeness and energy for dogs, so even the older guys can get outside and create more memories.

My favorite thing about Kelly and Loki is how they were able to take something as small as an Instagram account and inspire good works from all types of people. Kelly's act of loving Loki, and empowering other dog owners to get outside and create new memories and experiences with their dogs can create unconditional bonds that change lives for the better. Especially for some people who have a hard time making connections, a furry friend can calm nerves and start conversation, which can bring about a really cool relationship. I guess dogs really are a man's best friend.
