If there is anyone who knows how to empower people through love, it is none other than Bob Goff. A retired lawyer turned Christian author and motivational speaker, Bob is the epitome of living life with a Christ-like love. In 2012, Bob published his first book, "Love Does," a story about his life where he takes actions and loves people of every sort boldly and unconditionally. Throughout the book, Bob never takes no for an answer and never misses an opportunity to hear someone's story, or to share the love of Jesus. Throughout his incredible life, Bob shares stories of how he became the Honorary Consul for the Republic of Uganda, how he pursued his wife for three years to get her to date him, and how he managed to get into law school by sitting outside of the dean's office for seven days until the dean got fed up and let him in. All these stories wound up into this little book are motivated by one action: love. And boy does Bob love well.
In 2003, Bob founded an organization now called the Love Does Organization that has been fighting for human rights and providing education to children in countries all over the world. Working in places like Iraq, India, Afghanistan, and more, Bob and his team have helped build schools for thousands of children and gave them their right for education. It is through his interactions and his actions that Bob empowers people, and starts a chain reaction for positive change.
Bob Goff retired from his lawyer life and became an inspirational and motivational speaker, where he travels around the world empowering his audiences to spread their arms out a little further and to love someone boldly.
My favorite thing about Bob is his intentionality. I went to one of his concerts in September of 2019, and I got to meet him after it was all over. Bob probably met over a thousand people that night, but when it was my turn to talk with him he had his full attention on me the whole time, making me feel heard and unconditionally loved. Throughout his concert, Bob talked about authenticity through people and through faith and how vital it was that they went hand in hand.
Take action with the people and experiences you love – something incredible might just come out of it. Plus, you can always call Bob and ask him, his personal cell phone is on the back of the book! Love impacts thousands of people, and Bob Goff's love is starting the chain reaction for the world.
